Nokia 6682 setting the city

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Firstly, let me say since the forum thread changes, searching is painful!

Nonetheless, I searched anyway. I want to know, without doing a hard reset on a Nokia 6682, how do I change the city location option that you get when you FIRST turn the phone on after receiving it? I've read the manual but the option they give you there is not available, must be because it's a Cingular firmware...

Any ideas?

Go to your clock, click right, click options, click add city, then select my home city.

^Yeah, that's what the manual says, but, that option is not there on Cingular's model phones. Why, is beyond me...

It is on my 6682 purchased 10 days ago from Cingular.

Hold on, let me check it again...

I've gone to the Clock, then scrolled to the right, (world globe) added a city, then selected OPTIONS, and I have:
Add City
Remove
Settings
Help
Exit, that's it; and further more I have the latest firmware. Very strange....

Make sure you have auto update time OFF

^Ah, well that's it! Excellant, thanks...

After you added a city, doesn't the phone show it? Mine shows as many cities as I select. One on top of the other.

ElectronIntegra figured it out, 'auto update' must be OFF.

ps: nice photo...

Interesting! When I do that, my local time stays correct but the city changes to New York. What is the point of this? I thought you wanted to add additional cities to check different times.

It's a Ferrari theme I found on a web site:

I basically wanted to make another city my default, i.e. Atlanta; but it's all ok now.

My default is not even a city. It just says "local time" and displays the time. Then, it says GMT - 8:00.

...yeah, but when you first got the phone, you would have set the respective city (this is where I made my mistake, I was not paying attention, and choose the wrong city). That screen ALWAYS shows 'local', since, you are in fact local...

The other screen just shows 'other' locations, of your choice, and from here you can switch to one of these by using the "my home city" option - if 'auto update' is not on...

It displays local time @ GMT because you have auto update time on.

I'm not being funny, but what do those questions have to do with 'setting the city'?
Nonetheless do a search on Google nokia 6682 themes. You'll loads of sites. But, my favourite is Zedge...
I can't be asked to answer the other questions...
