Data Connect vs. Media Net vs. Smartphone Connect

I currently have a Data Connect plan, and I am going to purchase an unlocked 2125 off ebay... At the Cingular Store they told me for the 2125 I would need a Smartphone Connect plan.. What is the difference between all these plans? Will my regular data plan work with the 2125?

I would think it should work but would like to be corrected if I am wrong.

Before I got my 8125 they said that the MediaNet and Data Connect are basiclly the same thing. MediaNet is more for phones and that Data connect is for PPC or SmartPhone.

christ... here we go again

I have had Media Net since my MPx200 and it works through all devices including my 2125 and 8125. Cingular tells you things hoping you will spend more money but the truth is, a data conection is a data conection. You'll be fine with media net.

Yeah, you think Cingular would've taken the hint by now, that their data plans are confusing and their pricing is insane.

I think it is so confusing because It makes no sucking fense... No one is going to pay that much for a PDA plan unless they can promise it will be 10 time faster then EDGE speeds. I think "insane" is the correct word..
