Toshiba TS921/902T & transferring Java apps

Hi all!
Is it possible to transfer java applications to the TS921? I've tried using the software that comes with the phone (which seems to be the same as on http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...17&page=4&pp=15) along with an IR & bluetooth link, but this doesn't give the option of transferring java, even in the folder view. I've also tried copying the jar and jad files to the games directory on the SD card, but didn't have any luck with this either, as the applications simply don't show up on the phone
I spent more than I normally would on this phone because of it's java performance (drooled over the results at jbenchmark somewhat
) but so far I haven't been able to get anything on it! I might just be doing something stupid.
I emailed Toshiba Europe about this and they sent my query to Japan (or so they tell me). Well, it's been about 4 months now and I've given up hoping for a response
As a side note, MPEG-4 in 320x240 rocks
... although you can't transfer videos using bluetooth
Madness I tells you...
Thanks for any help!

No the TS921 won't allow you to do it at all. Japan-based phone models typically don't allow you to copy Java apps directly to the phone. That Toshiba Europe had to send a query off to Japan to answer this is quite sad really...

wow.. 4 months without a response.. thats not a good response time at all. toshiba europe should knwo about this.

Thanks for the replies!
I've not been best pleased with their customer support, seeing as I sent the email sometime in January.
Also wasn't able to download any java apps through Vodafone's Live! service. When I rang them about it they told me the phone doesn't support Java
I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. I bought this phone BECAUSE it's so good at Java!!! When I took the phone in to a Vodafone shop and showed the staff I don't think I've ever seen anyone look so confused in my entire life
Well that was the final straw for me. Along with the cripplied bluetooth I've just had enough. From now on it's big brand names that everyone knows. At least Vodafone will probably acknowledge they EXIST.
That'll teach me to buy phones based on pretty spec sheets
Ebay here I come...

Isn't that amazing? The phone doesn't support Java. (#_#)
Unfortunately this is the problem with bringing in phones designed for the Japanese market and selling them outside. It's something Vodafone Group, amazingly, still doesn't understand. Sharp and Toshiba have signed agreements with Vodafone so that they both manufacture phones and ship them to Vodafone network subsidiaries, who are supposed to promote, market and distribute the phones. They're also supposed to handle support queries about them. This is the market model in Japan. It's very different to the European one, where the phone manufacturers produce the phone, then promote, market and sell it themselves. Despite their obligations, the Vodafone companies aren't marketing or promoting these phones, and they know nothing about them because the mentality is that the phone manufacturers are supposed to provide the support. As a result, they can't provide support properly for them.
And you've just experienced the outcome of that lack of support from Vodafone.

Yes, I know you can download java games from the web (but not vodafone live... ohhhh no!) , but what I wanted to do was transfer them to the memory card or directly to the phone or else I would have to pay money to download my own applications which seems a little silly to me!
It's great you're pleased with the phone, but I found it too restrictive for what I wanted. I do ask a lot out of these gadgets. Perhaps too much sometimes
