I understand your reluctance with Beta's.. but... I downloaded it a couple of days ago, used it several times times with no problems at all ...yet

Jez,

I have not been successful getting it to work: the feedback shows "connectiong: 0%" and stays like that for a couple of mins and then gives error message... What are the GPRS settings you are using?

Thanks!

I couldn't get it to work either, but then i installed the webviewer. The strange thing i've noticed is for me anyway, inbuilt browser only works through my gprs wap settings, but Tip and webviewer will only work with the gprs internet settings(if it tries to connect using gprs wap account then I get the same problem you're describing) which for me enabled setting up an extra account where I had to enter a dns point to connect to. Tip and webviewer work perfectly then when they use that account. You'll have to contact your carrier for that information

Did you register with
www.tipic.com

I have a login with tipic and have no problem browsing the web using webviewer or the built in apps.... I tried to play with the GPRS (internet) settings with no success in getting TipicME to connect. I am sure the problem must be coming from my provider (Orange in France) and how I should tweek the setup (DNS info is correct, not using a proxy...).
The only other problem, that may be related to a similar setting/provider problem, is that I am not able to see the "live cams" feeds (again unable to connect while trying to access the feeds).
Would the QoS settings hqve qny effect on this?

Tipic's software is working with my AIM and Yahoo messenger accounts.
I had to download Tipic's desktop jabber client in order to add transports to AIM and Yahoo.

Works wonderfully, and it can be set to be always on, so long as you've got a gprs connection.

Possibly the single most useful application for me on the P800.
Ken
