I recently upgraded my bitpim from the 0.8.13 to the 0.8.14 version now it will not recognize my LG VX 8100 but will recognize my Wife’s LG VX 5200. What am I doing Wrong and how can I get the new version of bitpim to recognize my LG VX 8100. Please Help!!!!!!!!! Before when I still had bitpim 0.8.13 I had no problems with it recognizeing both phones.

post the bitpim log when trying to detect the phone also make sure you don't have the phone open when connected to the PC, also try unplugging and reconnecting.
Nothing changed in this version of bitpim with the 8100 detection.

Have you actually used the new version to edit something like your phonebook on the phone? My 8100 resets each time I edit the phonebook and then send the edits to the phone with a quick splash on the phone saying something like "service required".

Still no luck with editing my phonebook, each time it resets the phone. I have added ringers with no problem but phonebook is a no go.

Anyone?

Not sure what the problem is. I am having no problems with the new version now that it recognizes my phone. Sorry i cant help you

And you have downloaded your phone book, edited an entry and then sent it back to the phone?

I have tried just adding a single number to a contact then sending it back and it resets the phone.
