Contact field mismatch and limitation.

Further to the thread that started out on the inability of the P800’s sorting flexibility.
I find other problems. (But, still love the phone and just hope these issues get fixed).
1) The P800 will only display 3 of the number fields. I would like it to display all of the phone fields Outlook XP offers. (I workaround for this by putting some numbers in the notes section)
2) The numbers I have in the Outlook’s Mobile field show up with a (w) after them on the P800. They should have an (m). They do have the correct icon.
3) Occasionally, I am finding that after syncing, there are triplicates of some entries in my contact book.
4) There does not seem to be any correlation between the file field utility on the P800 and any value on Outlook’s contact page. It would be nice to have some custom mapping capabilities. The T68i was better at this.

Couldn't agree more.
I used to own an Ericsson R380 World and the syncronization between Outlook fields and the phone fields was very consistent.
I wonder what happen with the P800? Email addresses, phone numbers and birthdays don't syncronize well or don't syncronize at all.
I reported this issue to Sony Ericsson by email on December 4th 2002 and I am still waiting for their answer...

mine can show up to 6 phone numbers. and it has an icon on the left hand side such as mobile phones, handset. also (w) or (h) at the end of the number. im using ms outlook xp

Dupasquire, call the 1-800 number for Sony/Ericsson and ask for Jim in technical support. Tell them you are having a issue with the software suite and synch. They will give you a case number and Jim will call you. A very nice tech and knowledgeable. If he can't help, he will at least get the issue to the development guys.

Called SE but was unable to talk to Jim and he hasn't called me back since.
In the mean time, I sent another email to Support.Mobilityworld@pac.ericsson.se to ask what was the status of my request. They replied saying they are still waiting for an answer from their technicians...
I strongly encourage anybody who has sync problems to send them an email too.
