just got an L7 and am searching for the quick n easy way to sync my address book (mac OSX) w/the L7.

I have the data cable, and of course bluetooth on the mac, and this is a gsm L7.

my searchs so far have only told of the multiple phone number to single name problem, and yes my address book has multiple phone numbers associtated with single names.

can anyone point me to the down n dirty of how to start?

Using Bluetooth:

On your Mac:
Under the Bluetooth menu, select "Set up Bluetooth Device"

Let the assistant guide you.

When it starts to search for Bluetooth devices, make sure your SLVR has bluetooth turned on (menu->settings->connection->bluetooth link>setup->power->on) then put the SLVR in discoverable mode (menu->settings->connection->bluetooth link>setup->find me)

Your phone should now show up in the bluetooth assistant on the Mac. (When the option appears to allow iSync to access your phone, make sure that checkbox is checked)

Continue with the assistant and your SLVR should now be paired with your Mac.

iSync should now automatically open and your phone should automatically appear.

Select your sync options.

Click the big Sync button in the top right corner.

You're done!

Note: you need to make sure you have the latest tiger update. It has isync update to support the slvr. Works like a charm over bluetooth

This process works with multiple numbers under a contact?

No. Just gets the phone to sync with the Mac. There is no way that i've been able to find that allows one line per contact with sub-numbers.

OK, so only one phone number with a contact?

are you a mac user, and if so then how do you set up your "address book" in tiger to allow multiple phone numbers (everyone seems to have them these days) and sync with the L7?

do you set up a new group with only names & single phone numbers?

do pictures make it over in the sync of phone number contacts?

thanks,

dave

I do have multiple numbers per contact in Address Book (highlight a contact, click the edit button, click the green + sign in the phone number area).

However on the L7, it shows up as:
Rich Kidd - Home - ###-####
Bob Smith - Mobile - ###-####
Bob Smith - Home - ###-####
Bob Smith - Email - @@@@@@
Peter Tosh - Home - ###-####

That's the part i can't figure a work around for and is Motorola dependent.

I don't use pictures so i can't comment on that part.

I do however have about 1000 contacts in my address book but i only want to sync about 100 of them. So i make a "contact group" in Address Book and then only sync that group to the phone.

Make sense?
