Help with uploading contact list to a Lexus GS300?

A friend of mine is able to sync his Blackberry 7100g to the car but he CANNOT upload his contacts to his cars display screen. What he wants to do is buy another PDA from Cingular (if possible) transfer the contacts from his Blackberry to the new phone and then use the new phone to upload the contacts to his GS300. This is the solution that I suggested BUT if anyone has an alternative suggestion please fire away. Thanks in advance for the help.

Visit the Lexus website and check for compatibilities. I know if I had a Lexus GS300, I would not be spending my time pounding these keys.

Do a Google search for "Lexus Bluetooth" and you will find many hits. Follow the threads in the CNET forum. Apparently the numbers have to be transferred one by one. I did not have time to read through the entire tree but one person was using a Motorola V551 so I would think that a Blackberry would be up to the task if the phone book is not proprietary.

I thought the bluetooth on a 'slackberry' was strictly for audio and not file transfer.

I have a BMW which has a similar feature. With my old phone (nokia 6620), I could place calls but not upload my phone book. With my new 8125 it uploads the phone book and everything works! But if you are thinking of uploading the phonebook then ditching the phone, it may not work.

With my BMW, the phonebook gets uploaded to the car, but it will only show the phonebook when the phone is paired. Once the phone is disconnected, the book goes away.

My suggestion, buy a phone and pay a little extra for another line and have it as a dedicated car phone. I guess the only problem there dealing with 2 numbers. If you could only get them to simultaneously ring off one number.

How did you get your 8125 and BMW to work together??? What BMW do you have? Im having a b**** of a time getting the contacts on the ULF so I can make outgoing calls using the steering wheel.

Thanks

You can set one to forward calls to the other, instead of to voicemail...
