I was at walmart and they had two Phillips hard drive based mp3 players(one 4GB the other 6GB) on sale for under a hundred dollars. I currently have a Memorex with a 1GB SD card and it. Since I have a trip to europe coming up and though a larger mp3 player might be worth while for the trip since im leaving the laptop in the states. I would like your guys opinions since I bought both of them and am trying to decided which I like before I take one of them back.

They are the 4GB Philips PSA612 - Radio / digital player - HD 4 GB - WMA, MP3

This is supposed to be a fitness based one so it might be a little more sturdy that the other one. However its smaller one that the other one.

Philips HDD1630 6 GB MP3 Player

This is the larger of the two players. From what I understand it is designed to compete with the ipod nanos. I like the size both of the storage and the device itself. I heard their is some problems with WMP included in the player.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these mp3 players and was wondering if you knew which would be better.

I have the Philips HDD1630 and it's a decent player. Songs take about 1 second to load, some might find this annoying.

The only drawback is its glossy and fingerprints show easily.

Also you have to use Windows Media Player with WinXP to sync it.

I would go with second one. The first one looks pretty gay IMO, and is smaller.

Also, pics make it look big, the player is actually very small. Smaller than my V3c Razr in fact.

I just bought that first one there yesterday for $89.00. I am happy with it, but then again, amazingly enough, it's my first MP3 player! So weird because I am a phone FREAK, get a new one every 2-3 months, but way behind in the MP3 technology! But anyway...the second one seems to be a better deal, it's still $187.72 on Walmart's website.

I appreciate all of your advice however I ended up going with a 20GB creative zen sleek photo since I could get a lot more music on it. Besides If I was going to put atleast a hundred dollars into something I wanted to make sure it was something good.

Plus the whole thing about having to use WMP really pissed me off. I prefer to drag and drop my files. Thanks for your insights.
