My wifes 8300 just froze. Nothing on the keypad or any other buttons work except the left side button for voice memo. I even took out the battery and rebooted the phone. Again, the phone freezes up and no buttons work except the side voice memo button. Took it to the spint store and had them look at it. They fixed it and said they had to reload the firmware. Two days later it happens again. Phone was dead and froze up when I charged the battery and tried to turn it on. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before? I mean the phone was totally frozen, even the power on/off button didn't work. Any ideas I can try to fix before we send it off to Sanyo for repair?

I've had this happen to me before... it's better to just get a new phone... I mean if you can get it working to the point where you can write down all your numbers that's always a good thing. I slipped in gatlinburg... and my phone wouldn't work till it dried out well it took like a couple of days and well it finally dried out then it pulled what happened on your wife's phone and then i just said, ah screw it so when i got the chance i wrote down all my numbers on my computer and tried to use it that way.
