i love this phone .... wat about everybody else..and if u dont like it anymore why not

Posted by: Woogie650

I absolutely love mine.

Posted by: JMarti5968

I have had my Treo 650 for three weeks and so far I have no problems. A few resets here and there mostly because I like to experiment with different software. The main reason why I love it so much I used to carry a Tungsten T3 and a cell phone and now I only carry one device it is great. Also I like the Palm OS have been a Palm user since 2000 (started with the Palm V).

Posted by: Moose1

Well, I think love is too strong a word. I have not experienced the resets and crashes that I hear so many people complain about, but I still think there is some room for improvement.

Bluetooth 2.0 EDR for faster syncs and better sync with a Mac. Neither of which are improved with the 700p.

had my phone for a lil over 3 months and its great. only issue being the 2gb sd card limit(hopefully the update will correct that) and the spotty bluetooth reception. Tried a couple different headsets and none give me the range of my past phones.

Yo, right here. Love mine, as everyone in this forum surely knows, heh...

That update is more of a wish list it seems and wont happen...ever. Check out treocentral.com or mytreo.net for the on going conversations about it and a lot of points are made about the update and why it won't happen. If it does however, that would be amazing!

Posted by: tartis

I like my Treo 650, but I am still looking for something better. WiFi, EVDO, better Bluetooth, better reception on Sprint, more memory.

Posted by: Laker4Life

I've had mine for a little less than a year and the more I customize it the more I love it!! I was having problems (knock on wood...) with Bluetooth and resets but after I upgraded my fw to 1.71ENA and customized it a little it's running like a champ! Only thing I would really like is SDIO WiFi... If you want to go that route, you should really check out TreoCentral.com... Lots of helpful people there...

About 2 weeks with mine, and I can't see myself going back to a regular cell phone.

Posted by: Steeda001

I like mine alot. I am about 80% satisfied. If this update that i did on it stops the crashes and lockups then i will 85% satisfied with it. I have had mine (2nd one) for 3-4 months now and it has been pretty good. Its convenient for the uses that it has but the company seems as if they put emphasis in the wrong places. The Bluetooth Capability, in my opinion, could be a lot better. The Operating System, could be alot more stable. The user friendlyness of the changing the programs could be better. The service reception (signal receiving ability) could be better. Its very useful for email and text messaging as well as attachments and multimedia mail. The memory is sufficient for my use. Like i said.... I am 80% satisfied. I wouldnt go back to a traditional phone.... unless this one crashes.

I've had the treo 650 for 3months and the paint on the top buttons have started chipping. Does anyone know how to prevent it or fix it? Also, does anyone else have this problem?

I too have this same problem. I had my Treo 600 for a year and the paint never chipped. It looks like under the pain is another layer of pain (a little darker).

I am not sure what to do.

Posted by: pequeajim

I've had my Treo 600 for a little over a year and love it. Just within the past month, my keypad started to not work? I have to press my select button 30+ times some times to unlock the phone? Verizon says that I can take it in to a tech and IF they determine that it is a hardware issue, they will replace it for $50.00

Posted by: helpermonkey

I have had my Treo 650 GSM for about 2 1/2 years now and I really like it. It was my first Palm (Handspring then) device and my first smart phone. It's great, but it resets and the volume sucks and the speaker phone sucks, and EDGE is too slow, but I still think it's great. If I could get one that was faster with more memory I would be super happy. Please build me an HSDPA Treo! P.S. no Windows either.

Posted by: WiggyFife

um... I absolutely LOVES my Treo 650!!! It completes me!!!

I'm trying to break free from my dependence to it though. It has my whole life in it basically. I'm using my RAZR now for the time being...

Posted by: GNP

Just got one today, Im test driving it :P
It may go back and Ill get the ipaq or cingular 8125 (I think those are the right numbers)
Just seems to me there is more aps and games out there for the win mobile os than there is for palm but I may not be looking in the right places yet.
So far so good though I like it a lot (just wish I could install all these win mobile apps I have
The speaker does leave a little to be desired (I have 5 parrots, 2 kids and when I drive I dont use the ac so 80 mph with the windows down really cuts into the speakers sound)

Posted by: Markymark26

i usually go to mytreo.net or treocentreal.com to get apps straight off the phone no need for computers

Posted by: GNP

Ive signed up at my treo twice and tried the resend email several times but cant seem to get it, and they dont have any contact us info that I can find to get it sent

Posted by: Kabuk1

Palm OS has INFINITY more apps than WinMo...

And you often don't even have to sync to install them, unlike WinMo

Posted by: Guzman

well there is room for improvement for us mac users, since we are obviously against windblows you would think they would try to cater to us a little better... but i still LOVE my treo... i've had it for a couple weeks now and had less than a handfull of resets... so happy i got it.

just got the kuda car kit and gettin ready to get a palm hardcase.

hey hypermonkey, have you tried out Volumecare? My earpiece and speaker volume are both kinda low but after trying out Volumecare both are more than sufficient... I can actually blow out my speaker if I wanted to...lol You should try it out if you have a chance...

How much is it? I am seeing $20. Man I hate that I should have to pay $20 for something that shouldn't even be an issue. On the Mac I am sure I could get a freeware app. to take care of the issue. It seems so many minor apps for the palm cost $20-$30.

I remember seeing some volume booster that was $10, but I can't remember the name.

Oh yah, how is the audio quality once it is boosted? How about the speakerphone? The speakerphone really sucks!

Posted by: Laker4Life

I thought it was $15, $20 if you want the Bypass Ad-on (if your headset jack doesn't work, it will make the Treo bypass the jack). It does suck that you have to pay for something like this, but since PalmOne won't fix it, I'd rather pay and be happy with my phone...
The audio quality is great, now that I can hear with no problems... I sometimes have to turn the volume down... The speaker volume is the same... Use the trial version and see if it's worth the money to you...

I am satisfied with my Treo 650 except I am pissed at Cingular. I am on my third Treo 650 in the last year but at least Palm will replace it, so I don't complain. I use an unlocked Cingular Treo 650 with a 1GB SD card on the T-Mobile network with the $5 T-Zones. Its $6 now but I got it when it was still $5. Excellent phone, over priced, but its like buying a desktop computer, don't complain cause you will use it more then anything else.

I love my Treo. It's so nice to have everything in one device. Now that I have it, I can never go back to a standalone PDA.

So, no problems with VolumeCare at all? I find that the speakerphone isn't loud enough to answer a lot of calls.

Posted by: Kabuk1

Be very careful with VolumeCare, I have heard of a lot of people blowing their speakers by setting the volume too high.

Posted by: GNP

With what I paid for the phone and for service I find it real hard to spend extra cash for things like volume care, I even hate spending for games and such. As Im sure a lot of you are aware of there are a ton of aps out there floating around the web that come cracked or with the needed fix but as with anything of that nature some work, some wont (ALWAYS BE SURE TO BACK UP BEFORE TRYING THEM THOUGH)

I can see that. I just got a call and whoa! the speakerphone was so loud that I could hear 10 feet away. I'm going to bring it down a bit. No point in blowing the speakers. I had forgotten about trying VolumeCare and got quite a shock from the speakers.

I'm only using the Automatic configuration and not even the Advanced one where I could use the "Boost". Maybe I'm going to bring the boost down a bit.

Posted by: Kabuk1

I'd like to try it again, but when I tried the demo a few months ago the sound was all crackly & distorted. Is it still like that? I guess I could try it again & find out for myself, I do have a few extra speakers lying around anyway...

Posted by: sc0rpio

I was also a Palm T3 owner for 2 years so having a Treo is so much easier on my pockets. Couldn't be happier.

My dream Treo would have GBs of RAM, Wifi, longer batt life, thinner design, better lens on the cam, 3.5mm audio jack, built-in voice dialing/app launching, ability to hear audio using BT headset, Butler in ROM, stronger vibrate mode, ...hmmm what else?

Posted by: bugladydi

The Treo is my 5th converged device and the one I keep going back to. It may not have the bells and whistles the 8125 has but it is the most simple and easiest to use (especially one handed) device out there right now. Miss the Wifi though. Anyone interested in buying the 8125????

Posted by: Kabuk1

I too would like gigs of RAM, and in the near future, like before 2010, that may be possible. I read something about tha advancement of flash memory & it's movin' on up... There's a physical hack you can do to install a 3.5 mm headphone jack too.

Posted by: Laker4Life

lol, I'd just like to have 128mb or at least 64 to use... My 2gb sd card does fine so far and when I get a 4gb it'll be more than enough... It's crazy they can put a gig into a tiny flash player but not in a mini-computer/phone...
For the 3.5mm jack, here's a link to the guy that did it... Nonobeez is his name on Treocentral. Very nice guy, you can send him your phone to have him do the fix or he has instructions on his site... Go to the forums at TreoCentral.com and let him know if you have any questions...

I've been experiencing crashes and lockups also with my Treo. However, mine fell and before that occurred, it functioned well. I have a new one, but I didn't activate it as yet. Hopefully, it will work fine. I'm mostly happy with my Treo except I'm curious to know what else it's capable of.

I've had my 650 (GSM) for 9 months now and I love it. I think I would be lost without it, I misplaced it one day and missed half of my appointments and/or was late.

Its only now become buggy but I have loaded it with tons of apps and hacks. I get 3 or 4 soft re-sets a day on average.

Just wanted to drop in my two cents...

PS: Great site for Treo info/help: mytreo.net They're a bunch of rabid Treo fanitics there but they're still pretty easy to talk to.

Posted by: Frosty_Power

Had my Treo 650 for 5 months and finally got rid of it. Too many crashes and resets. Nice unit and styling is great but the cons for me were 1) The more software you load, the more it will crash 2) No true push email PIM syncro (chattermail was an excellent fix for push email but you miss a lot of calls and it chews up the data transfers) 3) Bluetooth headset use is garbage 4)a bit heavy 5)not a fan of PALM OS, especially this one crash crash crash(maybe I'll pick up the 700) 6)volume settings are no good(need volumecare). Those are just my peeves with this smartphone but overall I was satisfied with it. It is a better PDA than it is a phone.
