Problems with T600 Navigation Control

I have a Treo 600 on Verizon that I have been using for over a year. I love the phone, but just recently I have been having problems with the navigation control. I press the center, or position buttons and nothing happens? I thought it was dirt under the buttons themselves because the problem was intermittent, but after cleaning it out, the problem still was there.

I backed up everything and tried to do a total reset, but this requires the up key to be pressed and no go. I then disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes and lo and behold, everything was fine! I then did a hot sync which updated my calendar and reloaded my three applications on the handheld and after turning on wireless, the same problem reared it’s ugly head again.

I then deleted each of the programs that I installed and still no go.

This sounds like a software issue to me? Have you guys heard of this issue with anyone else? It is only the Navigation Control that is having the problem.

It could indeed be software related, or maybe a corrupt database. I had a bad program kill my microphone once. Try hard resetting again & then manually reinstalling your programs instead of hotsyncing, cause when you HS, you're just putting the bad stuff right back on. create a temporary username to sync with, & be sure to test your phone inbetween each program install.
