How much do you think Motorola V3i will cost for Cingular?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My guess atleast $200. What do you think?

Also I was wondering if I bought a Motorola V3i now would I be able to connect it with cingular? (since this phone hasn't been out for cingular yet)

...most definitely.

I have it at my store right now. $399 outright, $299 2yr, $399 1yr. Works fine on cingular just have to provision the account and setup the web session just like all unlocked phones.

Cingular will probably have similar pricing, wouldn't surprise me if there is a $50-$100 dollar rebate.

Don't take my word as a definitive answer just trying to give you my .02$

Then in the year 200(x) everybody will dump their RAZRs and RAZR v3i's are the new thing and the v3i's become like free

Thanks for the replies.

I wonder if there is any new features in the cingular version of the phone. Just one of the few reasons that I thought maybe I should wait and see.

I pretty sure it'll be the same, just with "Cingular" branded F/W

$249.00 -this question is like 'The Price Is Right!"

Posted by: darkninja

I bet cingular will have to price this phone pretty competitively since verizon is getting its upgraded v3c that will have its music software and the memory card slot also.

So my guess would be a price around $199.99 with a 50 mir = $149.99 if verizon has its new one out as well or $249.99 with a 50 mir = $199.99 if cingular beats vzw with its launch.

...waiting will only make you a puppet to Cingular's customizations.

hopefully $249 or less and hopefully this thing will launch soon so I can dump Sprint on 6/4 when my contract ends!

You have it in your store right now? Does that mean it will be available Monday?

About the prices...... My Lord, you can get an unlocked for $239 on wirelessimports.com . How can the discounted price cost more than retail???

its not a cingular branded phone that he has. June 6, , is when Cingular is suppose to release

Posted by: *Dante*

If the cingular version of the phone doesn't have any addictional features then I might as well buy the phone now and connect it with cingular.

How does he have it at his store and have pricing? He said he has it at his store, I thought he meant he was selling them. His comment is confusing.

Posted by: mshelby

He sells the unlocked version at his store...nothing confusing about that.

Where did you get the June 6 date? I need to get a new phone and send in my old v710 back to Verizon and am interested in the V3i, but I need to send it back by 6/13.

one caveat about the unlocked phones--they are all the european version of the v3i, so the voice signal software and language packs are all for brits. If you want to put the american version, you need to be familiar with flashing the phone--it's not that hard, but can be tough to figure out for the newb.

Also, the voice dialing software is not the version that verizon has on it razr(which is much much better)--it is the old voice signal software that takes a 2 step command process.

True you do need to flash to get the US english on the phone but that is very easy to do. The newb guides on www.planetmotox.net are very good and with some simple replacing of files, and by searching on the forums of www.planetmotox.net you can get the US english and a how to on getting the job done. A little more work but worth it to not have cingular branding, well in my opinion any way .

Oh, I thought he meant he was like a manager of a Cingular store.

You guys are guessing a little low on the price...It is more than what anyone has guessed so far!! I've seen the pricing.

Posted by: naviwilliams

...and the price is?

Posted by: hitechy

$299.99 with a 2 year contract. Yes, it's a major rip off.

Here is the thread with more info:http://howardforums.com/showthread....ght=v3i+pricing

Posted by: tdawgmd

that is a totally ridiculous price, and they won't sell it at that---for 95%+ of users, the current razr does what people need it to do--make phone calls.

Posted by: *Dante*

Looks like I am gonna have to sell a few games or something to make another $50-70 to buy the phone. You guys sure thats the official price?

Yes, that's the official price.

Over $400. Waaaay too expensive for this phone. Most people should just get it unlocked instead of paying that much, unless you really like Cingular software.

Posted by: bodeh6

Anybody that pays $400 for the locked Cingular version vs $250 for the unlocked, unbranded edition is what I call........let me think........dumb.
