Cant ever connect to my razr..

First I tried using some program that runs in linux, dosent require any drivers, couldnt connect. Then tried the windows version. No go. Next I try installing drivers for the v3c and using p2k. That tells me phone is not connected but probably because I only have the modem driver. Many other devices show up, but I am unable to install any of them using the p2k drivers, and even if I could, the stupid computers (3 of them, yes!) lose their v3c modem in device manager. WTH? I've tried 2 sources of normal ini installation drivers off the internet, and one auto installer from motomodders. Nothing works. I cant even get all the new devices to pop up anymore. Any ideas?
Agh, they keep on coming up as composite usb device. This is why I hate windows. Has anyone hit this problem before?
Well on the 3rd computer I somehow managed. Any reason now, that all programs freeze when I try to connect? Can phones be locked up? They freeze or say something like "volume name fail"
