CMD-Z7 in north america

I was wondering if there is anyway to convert a sony CMD-Z7 for use on 850/1900 GSM networks. I think it is one of the best looking phones ever made and I would really like to have one that works here in Toronto. I know there are a lot of brilliant people on this forum. Any thoughts?

Nope. No way to convert a 900/1800 to 800/1900 or vice versa. On a very few phones (mainly motos) that come 900/1800/1900 they can be seem edited to enable the 850 band because it was disabled thanks to the software but the chipset is in the phone.
Sorry only way to be able to use that phone for more than a paperweight would be move out of North America
