L7 P2K Help Needed

I've read through a bunch of threads on this, and they all go from "Here's the problem" to "I figured it out" without explaining what to do.

I have a SLVR L7. P2K doesn't see it. From what I've read, it needs to be in modem mode for the software to see it. And there's a setting somewhere in the phone to turn Modem mode on. But I can't find it. Anywhere.

My connectivity menu only has sync and bluetooth, no USB.

I'm really hoping the guy who sold me this phone didn't disable it somehow.

All I want to do is edit the gain table.

Same problem here.. RSD and LeaderGL Flex Editor recognize it.... but not p2k.

I changed the USB settings to "Data/Fax Connection" is that right. Well p2k Tools still doesn't recognize it.

trying to edit gain_table.bin also.

that's the thing...my phone is missing a usb settings option. I think it's time to return it.

Did you do a full flash?

I didn't flash it. It was supposedly "new in box" when I bought it on ebay.

Moral of the story:
don't buy stuff on ebay.
