Using Subsidy Unlock Code

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi,

I received a subsidy unlock code for my 8125 from Cingular. How do I use it - do I need to insert a SIM card from another carrier to obtain a prompt? And if so, does this SIM card need to be active (for example, could I use an ATTWS SIM card that is no longer working)?

Or is there another way to enter the code?

Thanks for any help...

You enter the code when prompted. This should happen when you insert a non-Cingular SIM card and turn on the phone. If you want to do it before you leave the country, try it either with a SIM card which has been deactivated or one which has never been activated. This is so you do not fried a working SIM card in case the code is incorrect.

Thanks for the help - used my old ATTWS SIM card and entered the code when prompted. No problems.
