UNfortunately this isn't a triband device...It also may never show up

Posted by: AdmiralAK

nah... its only dual band -- and no flip

Posted by: alpha tag

yup, but it could take a stake in the european market earlier than the p800... and if they stake a claim there, then a NA version may be in the works...

i guess it's for testing the market...

Glad to see that my outstanding signature provoked your very first post on this board!

The nice thing about this phone is the MMC slot. This, I believe is the Achilles heel of the P800. It can do so much, but damn, why did SE have to cripple its storage capabilities with yet another proprietary (and pitifully under supported) memory standard? 16mb cards? Argh. With the SD/MMC support that every competitor to the P800 already has, folks could be watching those MPEG4 video clips of their favorite movies and TV shows off 1GB SD cards.

It's been the problem with all Sony products up to now -- I LOVED my Clie (which I sold because I didn't think I"d need a P800 AND a Clie) -- but the memory stick limitation really put a damper on the Multimedia side of it.

Let's just wait for the 64 and 128MB duos -- we waited long enough for the P800 -- in the meanwhile, I also bought a Nokia 3650, just to see how SD audio and video playback works on a phone -- I don't plan on keeping it, though, it was just for curiousity's sake -.I'll be selling it shortly after, if anyone's interested - . I like the touchscreen capabilities of the P800 over any Multimedia solutions.

I carry my Casio Exilim M2 (with 256MB SD) for MP3 playback at the moment, as well for having a superior 2 megapixel camera, over the P800 one. P800 camera is really the best just for MMS.

ThreeGmobile Review on the Tel.me T919

The phone DOES look very unattractive with the enlongated screen, NOT PDA-like at all

Posted by: rickpaul

does it have a touchscreen? if not, then it is more similar to the 3650.

Posted by: Pugboy

it looks better than 3650

Bad idea using it's own OS instead of Symbian, Palm or MS Smartphone since that severly limits how, if at all, software can be loaded onto it.

Seeing this device reminds that the SE P800 is the most intensive product in its segment in all inclusive categories (Including reliability). And I take my hat of to SE for there clear understanding of all the different segments the comprise the World Class true Multi-function Device-SE P800.

IMO It aesthetically looks like a poor copy of a P800.

I think the P800 is the most beautiful looking Smart Phone to date.

Photo taken from May 03 (UK) STUFF magazine (There's also a pic of the model with the P800 on the cover)... check it out!

yes.. beautiful like that
