Definitely T809 all the way. So much better in terms of looks, quality UI etc. etc.

i'm interested in SOUND (music).
I went into my 'authorized TMobile dealer' hoping to make up my mind (+ charge a little more) and they had NO working phones!
my 1st choice is the sony ericsson's (w600 or 800 if they had those - but i don't want cingular. (and i'm skeptical sony software will work with mac's)
the t809 thread was loaded with complaints too...
HELP.
what's next best on tmobile?

I had the T809 for about two weeks and my wife still has the T809 and there are no complaints here. Ringtones are loud, and playing mp3's back through the music player works great to. Never used headphones though so I can't say about that. The menu system on the T809 is alittle weird at first but you get used to it. There isn't a email function on the phone so if your looking to receive emails then you might want to look at a different phone.
*oh and adding third party games that you didnt purchase from T-Mobile was a pain in the arse into install cause you have to download a couple programs and hit some menu key combo's.......

Sony Ericsson phones work great with Macs, don't think otherwise. Sony != SE.
The T809's music player software is quite basic and you can't do anything else with the phone while the music is playing. Speakers are loud, earphones are OK, but the proprietary plug sucks. Overall its a great phone, and only go for the Moto if you aren't swayed by the T809's looks and rich features.
The UI is OK (Speaking from the perspective of a former SE owner and current WM5 user) and the camera is great. It just looks better than many other phones, V360 included.
