V600...upgrading flash/flex for better reception?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a V600 that usually gets pretty crappy service...

what usually happens is that it seems like it takes 30 seconds for the phone to "recognize" that there is a signal....so even if where i am is a place where i can get good service.....my crappy phone wont pick it up because fast...and it is really annoying.

anything i can do to my phone to help the problem?

I've never heard of flashing a phone and getting better reception that's usually a hardware problem. See if you antenna connector is touching the contact on the board. But its worth a try to flash it. You'll need Motorola PST and use the program that comes with it called Multiflashflex and then find a triplet flash file. If you need to know where to get all this let me know.

I never had problems with my V600 like that. Maybe you should check the settings and see what bands you are set to. You might need to switch to an automatic signal or to a higher setting.

so reflashing wouldn't help the reception?

Most likely not

Its under the settings tab on your phone i think its called connections but I'm not sure.

I correct myself its under settings and a tab called "Network" go to "network setup"

my settings were already on automatic...so i've changed it to 850/1900...

Well the change should be automatic, if not it doesn't change, its not the software or any settings. Maybe this phone isn't very good with signal, I personally never liked it. I have one with a problem whenever you get a call it shuts off unless you pick up really really fast like less than a 1/2 a second you have to pick up and it won't shut off. I really hate the dang thing lol

haha yeah i hear ya...like i said i tried changing it to 850/1900 to see if there was any change...so far i'm not even sure...but yeah this phone's turning into a big pain
