Are my music files stored in itunes on my computer transferrable to my Treo 650? Thank you.

If they were bought through iTunes, they will not work unless you convert them to MP3.

Thank you. How is that done?

You can do it in itunes, just right click the song & select "convert to mp3.

UNfortunately, you cannot convert a Protected AAC audio file. You can do this though. Burn your songs to a CD, and then re-import them into iTunes as MP3 files. That will work.

Thanks for the followup. I took the earlier suggestion and found that I could not convert, so your advice is welcomed. Now, how do I limit the MP3 to the duration of a ringtone and how long is that? Thanks again.

And is RingPro necessary?

I don't know about RingPro, but I use a program called mptrim to chop MP3's

Posted by: Kabuk1

I use that program too, it rocks.

Posted by: Interquest

How long should the ringtone be and is another application necessary to play them?

Posted by: TWO515TY

If it's in MP3 format, you'll need another program. I put Ringo on my friend's Treo and it works fine for him. Technically, the ringtone can be any length, but 30 seconds is appropriate, as your phone will generally ring for that long.

Thank you.
