Cheap, Reliable, Techy Phone

Hello all, this will be my first real post. I have read a number of things on here regarding my current phone, the Nokia 6102 from Cingular and have to agree that it is not the best phone. I acquired it at practically no cost, but I am beginning to dislike the reception and audio quality. I need a phone which has a good amount of features. I would particularly like having a camera, and possibly expandable memory. My big thing with cellphones is that I do not want to pay to put my own content on the phone and to take it off. I prefer flip phones, but would be willing to try anything except a candybar phone. I have already bought an infrared adapter which I use often with my 6102 for putting MP3 ringtones as well as dumping photos/videos from the phone onto my PC. The carrier of course must be Cingular, as I am currently under contract and relatively pleased with the service in my most trafficed areas.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
- Abyss

P.S. I am in North America (US/FL)

So do you have to get something from Cingular, Or can you get a phone that is unlocked (meaning can be on any GSM carrier instead of just Cingular)? If you can only get it from Cingular then your low on options.

If you want to get an unlocked phone, I would recommend the Motorola V635.

Unlocked would be great. I'll take a look at the V635. Anyone else?

me back again: I notice you use infared a lot, so in that case a Sony Ericsson would do you well (as they are all equipped with this I believe). The best non candybar SE is the W600i, although it does not have expandable memory (it already has 256mb built in) it has an FM radio, good music player, cool gaming features and a good cam, plus its carried with Cingular.

I actually took a look at the w600i, and I like it. Any recommendations as to where to get one cheap?

Well, you could get a nice fairly cheap (even used if you want) one off the GSM Buy/Sell/Trade section of HoFo.
