Sprint Treo 650 Latest software

Just got my phone and want to make sure I have the latest software.
Under Phone Info it says:
Software: Treo650-1.13a-SPNT
Also if this isn;t the latest software how do I get the latest. Also I have been reading about "firmware". Is this the same as software?
As you can tell I'm new at this. Thanks in advance.

Software is what you install to make your phone do neat things, firmware is the operating system. But whatev, we all know what you mean. Yes, 1.13a is the latest version, you can always check on palm.com.
