Geez, can't people ()*#&$(*&#$-ing READ????

Posted by: anubis9278

well Alfred already posted one media max bundle for $29.99 but the details of that package will change a little. But, there are less expensive ones though.

Posted by: flokati

This would be nice...

Media Basic $7.99
-300 messages
-1 mb

Media Works $14.99
-1250 messages
-5mb

Media Max $24.99
-unlimited messaging
-unlimited media works

Although I doubt the prices will be going down!!

Posted by: Rcadden

There is no mention of this anywhere in CSP.

Posted by: AMSguitarist

Yeah, I believe the MEdiaMAX now consists of 1000 Messages(SMS or MMS), Unlimited MediaNet and Unlimited Cingular Video.

Posted by: Rcadden

that's stupid, CingularVideo is already free.

Posted by: BellaDea

well, cingular video goes off unlimited medianet so it's not free but to seperate the two is weird.

Posted by: AMSguitarist

Well thats assuming that Cingular Video is going to stay free. I imagine this package is something similar to Verizon's Vcast pack, but with included MMS and SMS.

Posted by: Soopafly

The new plans give a little more usage than the current and the pricing structures do change a little in the cheaper direction but still begin at the same price level. I'd say its better and should benefits about 80% of our data users.

Visit your local Cingular store on June 18th!

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

oh im so curious now.

im going to wait until i get my final commission to get my friend to change his date crap.

i dont need cingular to give me a chargeback for that.

ill probably get one of them too, ill only call cs to add it. (oh god i hope they do add it on correctly)

straight from CSP

Posted by: MTN DRMZ

After reading the article in CSP there is one thing that was not mentioned. Are they going to phase out or grandfather the existing packages for existing customers?

Any ideas?

Posted by: BellaDea

that's what I was curious about, especially since i didn't see the $9.99 1000 text only package.

but (just a disclaimer) these don't come out till the 18th of june so I guess anything can still change.

Posted by: DonaldMick

If past history is any indication, the old features will likely be grandfathered.

See: Old Mediaworks

I hope you're indirect... corporate really doesn't like that type of stuff. LOL

Posted by: edmund

The main thing I dislike, is that for the text only packages, excuse me "messaging", the only things I saw were 200 for 4.99 and 3000 for 19.99. No 1000 for 9.99 any more? I guess we are supposed to try to sell those people the new media max now. Thing is, in my store, I have sold a ton of the 1000 text packages.

nope, just a RAE with a bad deposition.

Posted by: stevOh

I like them... Makes it easier for customers to understand (1 Messaging Bucket).

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

so 2.99 is gone?

Posted by: BellaDea

ya, $2.99 will be gone. i know it's still in the system but they also took it off the brochures a while ago.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

f that. ill get it added to my account.

Posted by: bobolito

It's a change for the better, but still messaging is expensive. And STILL no unlimited messaging option? What's wrong with these people?

Posted by: i0wnj00

Cingular will try to stay away from "unlimited" if at all possible and if they do then it's a good possiblity that they will try upp'ing the price "a bit".

Posted by: holaDude

I have no idea where you found that information in csp. I cannot find it any where. I looked under the customer support and product price tab without any luck at all. unless you received a price list.

Posted by: bobolito

I think the MediaMax 200 is the one that will make me get off CSD. I hope they don't change it, and if they do, it changes for the better.

Posted by: i0wnj00

MediaMax 200 is the only one that looks remotely interesting since I pay a total of $22.98 for Unlimted Media Net ($19.99) and 100 txt messages ($2.99) so if this actually comes out I may consider going for it, what I'm not sure of is if it's worth saving a few bucks.

Posted by: bobolito

I already have the $4.99 200 SMS package, so if I get the MediaMax 200, it means that for $15 more I am getting unlimited internet in addition to the 200 SMS which include MMS.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

ive been debating what media bundle my friend should get to save him money.

id need to see the damn brochure before i decide. unlimited internet would probably be required.

Why wouldn't it be worth it? Not sure if it's worth saving money??? What's the downside to switching? Hmm...Exactly the same service... for less money.

Posted by: Opi

any update on this?

The international txt that I can potentially use since I don't have to pay anything more for it. Yes, I send txts outside the USA.

Posted by: mendel

what about "PPU" will it still be $0.10 for SMS and $0.25 for MMS

or will they both be $0.10

(also is there anything in the works for M2M text???)

It will still be .10 and .25 for txt and mms.

Posted by: CrunchDude

MediaMax for $20 sounds good to me. Basically, I'll get the same thing I have now, MediaNet unlimited for $20 but I'll also get 200 text and MMS messages. Perfect. I'll never go over 200 for both.

Posted by: walkguru

i think ill stay with my unlimited internet, 1500 sms, and 300 mms for 19.99.

Yea, I might just have the MEW1 applied as well. I just barely text or MMS ever.

Not quite following. You can get the "old" MEdia Works plan still? If I could get that too I'd be on it in a flash, otherwise I'd have to settle for the MEdia Works 200 that coming out.

Also, I was looking at the Cingular website and for MEdia Works (current) the MEdia Net is only 5mb, not unlimited. Is that correct? If so these new plans are definately an upgrade.

Yea, there is way to get the old MediaWorks. The MediaMax would suit me just fine as well as I don't text or MMS very much, but maybe this will get me started. What phone are you thinking of getting?

Is that the correct code for that old media bundle?

Posted by: Antioch18

CrunchDude- Thinking of getting an unbranded Nokia 6126 when they come out.

Sure you don't want a Treo, an HTC (Cingular) 8125 or an iPAQ? hehe...

Posted by: Antioch18

Uhm. Not big into the MDAs or PDAs or whatever they're called. Too big for me. The largest I'd go is a Nokia N80 (if they had 850GSM) lol.

I like small flips - but don't like RAZR. Nokia 6126 should do just fine for me! =)

Then yea, Nokia is your friend. It has the best reception of the various different manufacturers.

MBP4 (promo)
1st Month Unlimited
$29.99
· 1000 Messages (Text, Picture, Video & IM)

· Unlimited MEdia Net

· Unlimited Cingular Video
(Available on-net Only)

· $0.03 Additional Messages

this really isnt a bad deal..

with tmobile internet its 29.99 for unlimited internet with NO SMS and MMS.
you do get wi-fi tho, but id never use it.

Posted by: marshmeli

the MBP4 plan sounds nice...

i just upgraded my phone and plans to the 10mb media net and 40 mms and 200 sms, but was probablly going to upgrade to the media net unlimited for 19.99..., if i were to do that this is better, i will wait until these are released i guess to see more details.

Posted by: keiri

Ok with this current media bundle information I have a question:

Under my data usage in OLAM I have 1500 messages and Unlimited MediaNET/Internet. How is this possible when I have the Media Works for $19.99(1000 text, unlimited multimedia, and 5MB of MediaNET)? Even with the new packages what I have doesn't fit any of the new packages.

It's been like this for the last 2~3 months if that helps.

K

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

im confused.

guess i'll wait till the 18th or so and check on the sheets showing the media bundles.

Posted by: B-Money

Just received the plan brochures that include the new data plans.

SMS and MMS are now combined.

basic = $9.99 = 400 messages and 1 MB Media Net
(.10/addl msg)
works = $14.99 = 1000 messages and 5 MB Media Net
(.05/addl msg)
Media Max 200 = $19.99 = 200 messages, unl media net and unl cingular video
(.05/addl msg)
Media Max 1000 = $29.99 = 1000 messages, unl net and unl video
(.03/addl msg)
New messaging packages:

Messaging Starter 4.99 = 200 messages (.10/addl msg)
Messaging Extreme 19.99 = 3000 messages (.03/addl msg)

Are there no in between messaging packages like the 1000 for 9.99????

Cool. The MediaMax 200 would be perfect for me. Now it has unlimited MediaNet, but what is unlimited video? How is that different?

Thanks...

Posted by: B-Money

unlimited video is the 3G video where you can watch tv and movie clips, sports highlights, etc.

Cool...So it requires 3G I take it? Or will it let me download a bunch of video to save on my phone and to watch at a later time?

Thanks guys...

You have the old media works plan like I do. It wouldn't show up in OLAM for ever except for the last 2-3 months it's been accurate. They changed it last year I think from unlimited medianet, 1500 text messages, 200 MMS messages to what they offer now. Unless they force us to, lots of us will not give up that plan. Even these new plans don't look appealling to me.

Posted by: CrunchDude

They won't force you off it. Actually, they can still add them on. The rate code is MEW1, so if they ever "accidentally" take yours off, have them put it back on. And pronto at that.

Posted by: MrAlifEkin

I took the training but have totally forgot already. Are they getting rid of the 2.99 50 msg package? I assume 4.99 is now the most basic package you can get right?

Yes it is. And the 200 is NOT unlimited for the first month like all the other packages. We had a training class and the instructer went over why we didnt go with unlimited. He said that only 2500 people in the country went over their 2500 text package last month, so thats not enough people to be a concern. I still think that as a competive advantage goes, some people just arent coming to Cingular because they dont have the unlimited option. They did good with the overage charge only being .03 though.

By the same logic you would think that cingular also wouldn't have unlimited nights and weekends or unlimited mobile to mobile.

They don't offer unlimited nights and weekends or unlimited mobile to mobile because people use a ton of minutes, they offer it because it looks better than 5000 n/w even though very few would probably use that much. It all about marketing, why they refuse to see it that way I will probably never know.

If only 2500 people went over the 2500 txt plan, then I must of talked to 5% of those people this past month. I seen some with 4000+ messages on them.

Posted by: DonaldMick

https://www.cingular.com/media/mult...saging_purchase

1000 messages for $5, 3000 for $20? So much for those people worried about the in-between plans...

Posted by: edmund

^the 1000 for 4.99 has got to be a misprint, it is supposed to be 200 for 4.99. That is what they have been saying in e-mails and on conference calls.

Last night the website said the media basic came with 400 text and 5mb of data, so they can/do make mistakes. The description of "messaging starter" in OPUS/Telegence shows it as 200, not 1000. There is no in between option.

Talked with an awesome CS tech rep Chri... D. She was awesome about all the changes.

If you know her tell her thanks from me.

What does Cingular plan on doing to the people that added the 1,000 for $4.99?

are international texts included or are they still 25 cents???

Not saying i agree with the numbers, thats what was told to me. I wish that we had unlimited text, its a piece of mind thing in my opinion.

ivwshane,

I hope you understand its not my logic. I understand there is some marketing, not all though...let me explain:

Cingular had a decsion to make, give unlimited text in ONLY CINGULAR coverage or give 3000 a month in the entire network including all the roaming partners. They obviously went with the 3000 a month with more coverage. Look into the other carriers (maybe excluding TMO), their unlimited text is really sort of an limited unlimited plan. Because they can only use it in certain areas. So there is only a small amount if any marketing involved. Has to do with paying roaming partners a lot of money.

They are probably going to have to find a way to make that work for those people. Create a whole new soc to put on the account...what a pain.
