SLVR vs 2125

At $99.99 each which one would you get? I currently have a Treo 650 and it is just too big and the reception is somewhat crappy. What are the pros and cons of slvr vs. 2125? I use the camera every once in a while, and very rarely listen to music on the phone. Those two lean me towards the 2125, but how is the reception on the two?

Thanks

I would get a slvr

Reception on SLVR is great. Don't have much experience with 2125. Can't comment on that phone.

I have the exact same question, so I'll repost my locked thread here:

I just recently switched over to Cingular from Verizon. At first I bought the 8700c, but then found out that I'll be getting a BB through work within a few months -- it just didn't make sense to keep it and the BB data plan. So I returned it with the intention of picking up the 2125, which seemed like a nice compromise between a real phone and a PDA, but, well, I was seduced by the SLVR.

The phone, of course, looks great and feels durable -- two factors that are important to me -- but I'm wondering if it's the right choice or not. I'm not going to use the iTunes feature, and the interface of the phone is starting to really annoy me -- it's just SLOOOOOW. Also, reception is not great, but it wasn't very good with the BB either, so I guess I'm just in poor Cingular areas.

Now, I can definitely live with the SLVR, but I'm wondering if I would be happier wth the 2125. I told myself that my next phone would be a smartphone, and that clearly went out the door when I went to buy this one. Does anyone have personal experience that might relate to my situation?

There you have it. The 2125 isn't slow but you're sacrificing the looks, so it just depends on what you'd rather have: a nice looking phone with a slow os, or an average looking one with the functionality. I'd personally go with function.

Funny, I actually thought the 2125 I played with in the store (fresh one out of a box) felt kind of laggy while going through the menus.

Otherwise, the 2125 felt solid. Like it was carved out of a solid block of iron.

IMO, the lag on a 2125 is nowhere near as bad as a Motorola's

Just got my SLVR L6 today. Though it's still charging I did notice it came quad band enabled! I guess you can try the one you wanted first. You have the 15 or 30 days to try it and if you don't like it, get the other.

do they both feel about the same in your pocket? if size was a big deal, would the 2125's barely extra dimensions make a significant difference in feel?

I would rank the 2125 as 'average' for reception. It is slightly better then the MPx220. If you are looking for features and live in a reception rich area... the 2125 is the way to go. I sorta wish I didn't sell mine

I would go for the 2125, it may be windows, but it's not motorola.

Wirelessly posted (motorola razr v3c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

I had the SLVR and I wanted to cry everytime I used it. It's slow anyway, but after adding itunes it's a nightmare. Needless to say I returned it.

I returned the SLVR and got the 2125. The 2125 is exactly what I wanted, though I'm apparently in a reception-poor area, as each of the Cingular phones I've used haven't worked very well in my office, and not too much better in my home. Still, it's good enough, and about half as expensive as what I was paying for Verizon.
