Question about Asus M303 phone!

I am in BC, Canada. I was using a SE Z500 with fido ($25 fido to fido). and my cousin brought me the Asus M303 phone from Taiwan, and so I just figured i can take the SIM card from the Z500 and use it with the M303. So I've been using the M303 for a day now, but I don't understand why there is always a RED TRIANGLE on the top of the screen. I looked at the online manual and it says that means your phone has an activated roaming feature. So does that mean ROAMING IS ON?? and i have to pay for it?? or just that my phone has a feature like that??. Please help~!!!!
