hey guys,

im new to cingular and just got my l7 last week. i tried to search for my issue and nothing came up so here goes.

why is it that some songs from my itunes will go onto my slvr and others dont? i have a limewire acct, which i did purchase but, some of the songs that ive downloaded dont want to connect to my l7 telling me that they could not be copied to my mobile phone because they cant be played on the mobile phone.. i looked at the format of the songs that have transfered fine to my slvr and they seem to be the same format as those that dont copy.

i'd appreciate any help with this issue..

Its most likely because the song files from Limewire (which I use as well) have a higher bitrate than 192. The SLVR doesnt read song files larger than 192, so you have to go into itunes and change the setting to automatically downgrade all songs to a certain bitrate I use 128 which is fine, the highest you can go is 192 and the lowest is 96. Hope you enjoy your SLVR im loving mine, and if you need anything else just let me know. If you want to mod your SLVR I recomend changing the itunes song limit to 1,000 instead of 100 songs.

okay that sorta makes sense y some songs work and others dont, i just checked it out and the songs that im interested in putting into my slvr are higher than 200 bitrate.. thanks for ur help.

A SLVR is coming to me in the mail when the XBM stock of them comes in, how do I unlock it to be 1,000 songs? I also use LIMEWIRE and iTunes (for my video iPod =])
and how do I change them to be 128 bitrate? I cannot wait for the SLVR to come in the mail! Is it really a good phone?

To unlock the 1,000 song limit check out motomodders
Its really easy to do since you have a Cingular SLVR, with itunes alreasy installed. All you really do is delete the old itunes and download one of the files from motomodders and install it into the phone. If you do install 1,000 song limit you can still use itunes but you'll have to add songs the selected songs to a playlist (your phone). But I use another program called mototunes which is alot easier to use than itunes. To change the bitrate you have to check the options tabs in the program to auto. downgrade files larger than 128. I do enjoy my SLVR before I had the RAZR which everyone has but I dont miss it at all, so far everythings worked great with the SLVR, Id recomend the SLVR to others.
