i'm trying to add another account on the email application on my sidekick ii. the email account is through google's gmail. when i try to add the server, i've tried email.gmail.com, mail.gmail.com, pop.gmail.com, gmail.com, email.google.com, mail.google.com, pop.google.com, google.com. i keep the port at 110, because it says if you don't know, leave it.
everytime i've tried to add a new one, it sends me a message that says it didn't work and says "could not verify login information."
can someone PLLLLLLLEASE help!!! i have forwarded my mail to my tmail email, so the email comes through, but i can't write an outgoing message from the sidekick, which is important.
IF YOU COULD PLEASE HELP, or know anything i could try, let me know.
THANKS!!!!!! skrilla

I don't know what is going on with the Sidekick and Gmail. I was able to set it up with my gmail account and when I tried setting it up with my new Gmail account with the same exact settings it wouldn't work.

you need to go to your gmail account, look at settings, then allow pop mail...it should work after that

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com')
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com)
Password: your Gmail password

I have mine set up differently, but it's very effective and efficient.
I have gmail forward to tmail
and I have my sidekick set so that my "from" address is my gmail address and it also BCC a message to my gmail account. This way any replies or messages I start from my sidekick will automatically be in the "conversation view" on gmail!

I still get the error "Could not verify login information" error.
Here are my settings... although thanks BigC for copying & pasting directly from Gmail's 'Settings' section.
Note: I am with FIDO
Protocal: Automatic (also tried POP and POP/SSL)
Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Port: 995
