how do i edit the xml inside the .thm files? Right now all i can seem to do is view the file using winRAR's internal text viewer. The only problem is that i can't upload a new xml file to replace it. I mainly want my theme to reference the equalizer .swf file that's embedded in my w810

simply edit the file with Notepad

I haven't tried it myself, but notepad is the most useful app Microsoft gives haX0rs and the bunch. You can view most things with it.

rename .thm to .tar, untar the file with untaring utility like tugzip ( www.tugzip.com ). Edit the .xml file. Then, archive the files you untared into a .tar archive, no compression (default settings).

.xml files can be edited with notepad (right-click file, open with, notepad). the line you want to include is
<Desktop_style Type="File" Source="XXXXXX.swf"/>
after the SE version number or before the BackGround color.

i wonder if this is why the flash themes won't work on my phone. the full path to the swf file isn't references... it's just the swf file. should the full path to the swf be referenced in the xml?

You have to make sure your phone supports flash themes (w series do, K and Z series don't) Also is your phone unbranded?
