How do I disassemble a PEBL

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I bought a case to change the colors. The bottom replaces the battery cover. For the top, I have to remove the case from the screen. I have a torx wrench to remove the two screws from the bottom of the screen. After that, how do I remove the case from the screen? Does it 'pop' off? I don't want to break it so I'm asking in advance.

Thanks,

Paul

You need to pry the cover off the screen to get to the other 2 screws under it and remove thoes 2 as well to take the faceplate off.

Just be patient... good luck.

Where did you buy the PEBL housing? Is it original and do you have a link.

I got them from:

http://www.cellphoneshop.net/u61.html

I have the blue and the red and they look great.

The back cover goes on easy of course. I haven't decided about taking apart the phone yet.

On Motomodders.net, someone mentioned I'd have to use dual sided tape to put the screen back on. Not something I want to do with my new phone.

If anyone else does this, I'd love to hear details.

okay....

when taking apart the cover... becareful with the hinge...

4 screws including the screens and under the screen. Make sure everything pops in place, and double sided tape is essential for new screen. Its actually very easy, and leave the hinge on.

I've done several already and be patient and take a break here and there dont try to rush through it. If you're too anxious you may end up breaking a part...

I was looking for OEM cover but not the black one. I would like to replace my black cover with a pink one

Does anyone know where to get the other OEM covers in different colours.

Just want to say that I dont think any color housing other than black is available by itself in the market....

Thats too bad really because I wanted to change the cover to something more sexier that black. Black, white and grey as colors for the mobile are too dull for me.

I want bright and colorful colors.

The link I posted above has pink ones. They don't replace the center section but the top and bottom would look good.

I bought a blue one from there but I'm not comfortable enough w/ taking the screen apart to do it.

Yeah, but for the pebl you would want the entire phone to look one color
