Ok, I got this phone a week ago and have had trouble getting a signal when web browsing because, I assume, there is no EVDO here yet and the signal is not good otherwise, It keeps trying to go to data roaming, which, I guess is not allowed. Anyway, I need to try using this phone as a modem. I don't see a getting started CD mentioned somewhere, although there is a CD for setting up syncing with the laptop... Am I missing something? Can someone please explain step by step for a complete novice to try and set this thing up to use as a modem? Thanks so much!

well. from what i've read, and used, there should be a program called wmodem or something in the windows directory of the phone, and theres another program called cdma modem or something like that on the verizon cd. both should help you connect to the internet via pc. for the program for the computer, just use the #777 number to dial, and yournumber@vzw3g.com as the username, and vzw as the password

I don't understand where or when to use the number 777...Do I go to the AOL setup and add that as an access number or something? I can't get past the initial setup of this thing. I think I need simpler instructions or something. And for user name for Sprint, do I just put my complete phone number with area code, no hyphens? I don't see anything in the user manual that mentions adding a number anywhere. It does have a step where I am told to "enter the related network settings" given by the ISP? What in the heck is that about? Am I supposed to know this?. I am a complete novice and this is over my head...Can anyone simplify this?
Thanks!

use the dial up networking from within windows. the program (the one on the cd) basically tells your computer that the phone is a modem. so i dont know if using aol will work. i think you have to call sprint to get what number to dial, and the username/ password.
