.....I can't figure out how to connect to the internet. I went through the "Search" function and did the few things I found, but can't get it to work. I'm guessing there's a "set up" feature or something like that for the internet that I have skipped....I really know nothing about these phones, so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

If you got your 8125 from a Cingular store or at cingular.com then it should already be set to connect to the internet.

You might want to check your connection settings.
Make sure that it is set for Medianet.

I did get it from cingular.com, and checked my connection settings, which were not set on "Medianet". I set both the settings to "Medianet" but when I go into Internet Explorer, I try going to a website, and in the bottom left hand corner it says "Connecting..." but it never connects to the website? FYI, the website I'm trying to connect to is nba.com

Lets see if your 8125 is configured properly

Click Start > Settings > Connections > Connections
In the MEdia Net section click on the "manage existing connections"

It should be on Cingular GPRS with the number being wap.cingular

If not make sure it is checked on that one.
In the general tab make sure it says Media Net. If not then you need to make a new connection.

In the enter a Name for Connection put Cingular GPRS
Uder the Select Modem it needs to be Celluar Line (GPRS)
The access point name: wap.cingular

U did it bro! It didn't have "wap.cingular" showing up as the number....I changed it to that and now it works perfectly! Major props to you!

Now my next question is about AIM on the 8125. I have it all installed and everything, but am having a tough time signing on. It's giving me an error about not being able to recognize the hose and when I go into the settings, where it gives a spot to type in what the host is, it is blank. Can anyone tell me what to type in here? Any certain port I should be on?

Can anyone help me out with my question regarding AIM in my previous post above? Thanks!

I don't belive AIM is supported for WM5. Try the lastest build of Agile messenger it uses AIM, Yahoo, MSN and others. It can be used with GPRS or WIFI so it doen't pull from the text messaging package.

Thanks for the help bro. I'm gonna try installing that (once I find it) and let you guys know the outcome.

Alright! Agile worked like a charm! Thanks for all the help!

NEXT QUESTION: Now that Agile Messenger works, I went back into Internet Explorer and tried using it, but it said that it can't detect a connection now. I closed out of the Agile program and tried Internet Explorer again, but got the same result. When I installed Agile, did that change some kind of setting that I needed for Internet Explorer to function correctly? Once this is fixed, am I able to use Internet Explorer while Agile is running, or do I need to close Agile first?

Posted by: 187Proof

Ok, but here's the deal: I stayed with IE, and now it works fine...just perfect. And it has for the last day or so.....BUT, now I'm not able to connect to AIM through Agile. Anyone know why?

Gonna throw in one last *BUMP* to see if anyone could help me out with my question which is: My Internet Explorer works fine, but for some reason I can not connect to AIM, Yahoo, etc, etc through Agile. Anyone know why? Any settings I may have to reset?
