Lost Message Alert option on V3i

When I go into Settings>ring styles>Loud Detail I no longer have an option to change the text message alert.

Can someone explain how to get this option back please.

Looks that the problem is deeper than just the Alert. I no longer have an inbox or outbox etc in the message folder.

Anyone got any ideas?

I had the same thing happend when I was using P2KTools and removed the messaging options inadvertently--i.e. if you put your inbox/outbox, etc. back you will find you suddenly have the options in the ringtones section.

I did/undid this by loading up P2KTools, selecting "Other Features" from the left toolbar, then "Messages" from the dynamic list that appears. I then checked the appropriate boxes in the main pane.

You should restart your phone after making any changes--I mean unplug it and restart it with the keys. My (abeit brief) experience is that the restarts from within the program (P2KTools) don't always allow changes to take place.

If you haven't tweaked your phone, then I am not sure what the cause would be.

Absolutely spot on mate. First post from you and fab advice. Looks like when I was using P2Ktools and in the other section of P2K I clicked on set before read which removes several options.

I went through the whole list and found several other things missing that I hadn't even noticed wern't there!!.

Hopefully all is fixed now.
