Is there anyway to get better pictures or video with the 8125? I've tried both and they seem to be pretty terrible, especially the video files.

It's not only bad, but it's SLOW. You push the shutter button and you have to hold the phone still for 5 seconds before it actually takes the picture. Worse, the shutter speed is so slow that if you move the camera you'll get a big blur.
The pics on my old Treo 650 (VGA .3 MP) were better than these.

place your seetings on Large (640x480). It is much quicker and the burst mode works very well.
I agree that the pics look like crap and I was telling my wife today that if the 8125 had a CCD 2meg we wouldnt need to carry around our digital camera all over the place.
Heck, one of the best looking features of the 8125 is when you actually put it into camera mode and it truly does look like a camera instead of a PPC.
Wish the results were better.

All my experience with WM cameras has sucked.. I have had MPx220, 5600, 2125 and now the 8125.. I came into WM from a Moto V600 with a VGA camera which looked a hell of a lot better than any of my WM devices especially in low light situations. I recently saw images captured by the HTC Hermes (O2 XDA Trion) (2.0mpx) here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fabnapp/ and they still dont look as good as they should.. All WM devices seem to have a strange fuzz around detail.. Microsoft needs to get this issue resolved soon because people are becoming more serious about the cameras on their devices..
