SLVR L7: missing default sounds?

OK, not sure what I did, but here's the deal. I picked up two of the Moto SLVR L7's from the CompUSA $29.99 deal a few weeks back. Been playing around with them, and finally got the subsidy unlock codes today, so now I can use one of them with my Blue account. Got it all setup, and went into the ring styles to change the rings. Oddly enough, there's two places where there is nothing listed for the sounds, and it plays the default "Continental" sound.
It's just a blank space in the list, and I compared all the sounds to the other SLVR, and it seems to have more. I tried copying all the sounds from the good SLVR (which I gave to my son to use) from the c\mobile\audio, then copying them to my SLVR, but it's still there. Even tried a Master Reset, and the blank spaces are still there.
Anyone have any idea how I can fix this, or should I just try to reflash with the Motorola SLVR L7 Cingular Branded Firmware With Itunes? That's the same firmware/flex I have, but I'd have to re-load all my games and the cracked iTunes.
edit: Weird...it seems that just about all the sounds listed are only playing the default "beep" sound, instead of the correct sound. WTF did I do?
Arrrghh! And now iTunes won't play through the speakerphone or anything (which it did before.) I think it might be best if I just reflash it with the stock software and start over. Hopefully I don't brick the phone.

No one has any comments on this?
I'm a little leery of flashing my SLVR, since I've seen several people post that RDS Lite wouldn't complete, and I'd hate to brick my phone - especially since I just got Cingular to provide me the subsidy unlock code, and if I have to send it in for repairs, I'll probably get a refurbished (and locked) one back. Then again...obviously people have been posting that have flashed to the Cingular-branded firmware just fine...
edit: OK, I fixed the problem with iTunes not playing thru the speakerphone. I had flashed this SLVR with the very first cracked 1000-song iTunes, and then there was an updated version that came out (and that's linked in my sig.) I just deleted and re-installed iTunes, and it now plays thru the speakerphone correctly. However, the sounds are still not displaying correctly, and there's still blank spots in the list.
So, anyone have any thoughts on my flashing the phone to take it back to the factory Cingular defaults?
edit: Since no on replied (and I got tired of waiting LOL), I took the plunge and re-flashed it. Everything went smoothly, with the exception that RSD Lite got stuck at the last part "rebooting phone 0%". I believe this is because the USB connection has to be set to data/fax, and the default is memory card. I simply closed RSD Lite and ignored the warning. Everything is back to factory stock defaults, and all the numbers matched up to the pre-flash ones. My phone was subsidy locked after flashing, but fortunately I have the subsidy unlock code with me, so I simply entered it, and it's once again unlocked.
Problem solved. (whew!)

Looks like I'm talking to myself, but update: the problem is still there, virtually the same. The "missing" sounds are there, but every sound except "Continental" just makes the default "beep". The only thing I can think of is that I've loaded the cracked 1,000-song limit iTunes on the phone.
I rebooted the phone, and now they're playing correctly, though. Very odd...
