Alright guys I've spent hours pouring over everything written in these forums about the XV6700. The consenus seems to be either you hate it or love it and you either fix it and live with it or ditch it. I'm going to be purchasing a windows device for use with sling box so obviously i've got the 6700, treo 700 or q as options. Any of you that have issues but stick with it, it must obviously be worth it... any advice ya'll?

i like the non-win phones better. like the treo 650.

I have the 6700 and my wife has the 700. If you can tolerate the hidden keyboard and touchscreen dialing then the 6700 would be my vote. Just the larger screen size makes it that much better in my opinion. I stream via orb and it works great.

My $0.02

only two months on this device and love it... granted the help and hacks you find here make it easier to use and faster, i was fine with it out of the box! i can't compare to the treo because i came from nextel (obviously) but this device blows away the i930 from nextel...

The que runs WM5 Smartphone and has a small square screen.. I am not sure it would be a good option for Slingbox, as well the Q does not have WiFi so you don't have that as an alternative free wireless option.

If multimedia is your goal I would suggest a WM5 PDA Phone device like the 6700.
But the soft dialpad does take some getting used too. It is one of the few things I hacked and changed on the device.

Edit: Slingbox does run on the Q, but I still don't like it for the lack of WiFi and Touchscreen

thanks for the replies i was pretty sold on it after playing with it at the store last night. Just gotta wait for the next pay check and to sell the blackberry and razr. Other question for those of you that stream, do you have to have the keyboard out when you stream? and Lazy bone is there a list of these hacks that I should search. I did notice the remove all verizon brand crap hack.

My rule for hacks is to only look for fixes to things that you don't like. Don't install all of the hacks or any hack just because someone suggested it.

The closer you stay to the stock configuration the more stable and predictable the device will be.
