I downloaded the new Windows Vista sound effects and installed them in my windows folder. They sound much better and not quite as jarring as what Microsoft installed. Anyhow, besides looks what else make a bigger difference with a user experience than it's Operating System sounds? I think you'll like allot!

TIP: You can save the sounds in Storage Card/my documents if you want the extra room on your device. Also, I went one step beyond and changed some sounds that are only accesible in the registry. I must say my device this makes my device feel like I'm using a whole new operating system. User experience may vary!

It would be cool if someone could make a .CAB file that updated all the registry edits in the operating system and got rid of the old Windows sounds.

Goto HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds

I think all the system sounds are in there

Ugh, they're nearly impossible to hear.

Anyone care to post up the default registry entries so I can change it all back.

Theyre Wav files so run them thru Microsoft Recorder and boost the volume to your liking
