Hi, I know this issue has been raised before and I have sincerely tried to look through all posts before raising it here again.
My Black RAZR is only a couple days old. I love the phone, but did notice the low earpiece volume issue right away and need to do something about it. I read a post where there are solutions to this issue provided through increasing the gain. I followed everything through the post including downloading a file called Bezols P2kTools_v0719. I actually thought I was getting this to work as I even clicked on tools and found the "Gain Table Option" and tried to change the earpiece volume to "3" or "4".
But then it was too good to be true.. I noticed in the lower left hand corner in red that the phone was disconnected. I am sure that I plugged in the USB Cable properly. It even seemed to find the V3 and recognize it and then I got a message asking if I wanted Windows to update the software. I have XP. I checked the box that said "Yes, do it one time only", but when I did it it said I had a hardware error and it may not function properly. I tried some of the suggestions in the post I was reading by restarting and getting out and then back into the P2kTools program, but nothing worked. The bottom line is that the phone does not appear to be connected even though I do see a little "RAZR" looking icon on the bottom right task bar of my PC. geeze, I think once I get past that, it will be as easy as changing the earpiece voume up to a 3 or 4. Right?
So, what do you think my problem is? I was thinking this is a driver issue, but I read somewhere that P2k Tools already had the right drivers. I am stumped and need some help on how to have the program recognize my Razr. Please respond as soon as you can. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, but I'm still having a problem.. I went to the site you gave me and downloaded the P2K drivers to my desk top. I then tried to open them and I got an error message that said that windows cannot find a file association for them. I wasn't sure what to do from there because it says that they need to be unpacked into the System32\Drivers folder. Well, the "RAR" files are in that folder, but I am not sure what to do from here because when I click on them nothing happens. I went into Pk tools again and it still says my phone is diconnected but yet when I plug the USB cable into the phone, I hear a ringing bell sound, kind of like it might be connected. Don't know where to go from here and am very frustarted. I am sure I am missing somethiung that is probably easy as to use these RAR files in the Drivers folder. Please help. Thanks.

.rar is a compressed file - similiar to winzip files - .zip you need to download a trial copy of .rar compression software to uncompress the files. google around for .rar software

Ok, ok, I did that. I found compression software called WINRAR and I think I uncompressed the files. Not sure though.. I found the drivers in RAR format and then clicked on Extract. Hopefully that is what I shoud have done. I then found a file folder under Drivers called "PK2 tools" and when I clicked it, it does have a bunch of files in it that say "moto..". Now what? I still don't think I've associated anything to the phone. There must be another step that I'm just missing. I reconnected the phone and still nothing happens and it says it is still disconnected. I also got a yellow pop up error on my task Bar that says something about the USB. Hmm. I am hoping you could be more specific with your instruction. I honestly don't know what ro do from here and any help you could provide is most appreciated.
