XV6700 pauses in phone numbers

You know how you put a "P" in phone numbers to cause a pause. (then enter your pin number) like when doing your voicemail automaticly???
Well, the VX 6700 does not seem to recognize the P's. Say I have my voicemail number 800-555-1234, I add P's and then my PIN, like so: 800-555-1234PPP5428, it should go into my messages without me entering my PIN. Worked fine on my LG phone, why not on this?

I'm on Alltel, what works for me is to use two p's and the # sign. As in 8882225555PP#1234

The other trick is that you can't have two contact names for the same phone number on the ppc6700, or at least I could not so to have one with the code and one without the security code didn't work. I made a new contact I called "messages" and entered the number with a 1 in front as in 18882225555pp#1234 and then when I use Microsoft Voice Command and say "call messages" it uses the code with the security code tagged on. That also lets you "hide" the code in your contact list with a different name so that someone borowing your phone won't find out your code. Adding a 1 to the front of the number makes the phone think it is a different number though it does not effect the dialing. Cuz

I have a Verizon 6700:

Open the phone application, hit the right softkey to bring up the menu, then click options. Across the top of that screen is your voicemail number. I live in the MW so I'm not sure if your VM system is different. Mine reads: 3095551212ppp#1234#11 Works flawlessly to enter the password and it also starts playing my new messages without a keypress. MS Voice Command dials this number when asked to dial "Voicemail". Also works when you press and hold the #1 in the phone application. Hope this helps.

Got it, thanks.
For some reason you must use lower case p's.

in my area it's not necessary to hit 1 to play your messages. You can turn that option on so that it prompts you but default is to not prompt, I do believe.
