Indicator Light on 700P

Someone please help me with my new 700p. the little status/indicator light on the top left corner of the phone is not one. on my 650 it would blink every 5 secs or so when standing by, and when i missed a call or had an alert it would blink quicker....but currently my phone light is not doing anything. is there a certain setting somewhere in the phone that i need to change. i cant find it anywhere and i contacted palm and they dont have a clue. they had my do a hard reset and that was their only recourse for it. any help?

The LED no longer works as a service light. It will now blink green when you have a missed call, text message or a voicemail. Also it turns red when charging and green when it is done charging.

The above is only for Sprint, on VZW it functions as before
