T-Mobile MDA on Cingular Network

I am currently a T-Mobile customer and have an MDA (2.21 ROM). I am looking to move to Cingular since I am really getting tired of the coverage of T-Mobile in my area. I get no coverage in my office (not even a single bar) and barely 1-2 bars in my house, in one corner of the bedroom only. I have the following questions and I hope someone can help:

- What data plan should i select with Cingular, i do use email and tether to my laptop occasionally
- When i switch to Cingular I want to continue to use my MDA and keep my phone credit to buy the next HSPDA WM5 phone (hopefully end of year), is that possible to do?
- What average Edge speed do you get on Cingular network (Boston area), I realize that it will vary from area to area but curious to what avergae speed you get vs. T-Mobile.
- What settings do I need to change to be able to switch my phone to Cingular's network, and is there a link that has all these settings.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

first your going to have to unlock it. theres is an app on xda forums. and you have 2 options either reflash the rom or just change the settings (internet and mms if you need it.) not that hard at all. and these are the settings.
wap.cingular
WAP@CINGUALRGPRS.COM
CINGULAR1

With the above settings I am getting 110-160kbps

isp.cingular
ISPDA@CINGULARGPRS.COM
CINGULAR1

with the above settings I am getting 20-70 kbps
