USB Connection Help!! Please help this noob!!

alright, ive read some posts on here and found out that Motorola Phone Tools installs the drivers needed to transfer ringtones from my windows computer to my razr v3.

i bought my razr v3 off ebay a couple of days ago, and it came with Mobile Phone Tools, is that the same as Motorola Phone Tools?

Do i need a specific version of the cd? mine says copyright 2005 on the bottom but doesnt list any version.

after i put the cd in, it installed MAGIX media manager and MAGIX mp3 maker, is this all that i need to install or do i need to install more?

i dont think that i have installed any drivers yet because my phone cant be recognized, it says new hardware found but it doesnt do anything.

how do i install the drivers? do i just put the disk in and wait for it to come up?

do i use the windows new hardware wizard or do i let the disk run or go thru the run menu?

im totally lost!!

i did a search and went thry alot of posts but it made me even more confused.

i just need to know how to install the drivers with mobile phone tools..

On your phone, do you have a USB item under the connection settings menu? I just upgraded the firmware on my e398 and it has USB drive capabilities now. If it's there, just set it to disk mode instead of the data/fax mode. If you just need to put files on the phone, might that work? (if it's available on the razr)

i called motorola and they gave me a link to an ftp site that they have to download motorola phone tools. i have it installed right now, so there is no need for naybody to help me anymore.

im pretty sure that im not allowed to post the link, even though the site is operated by motorola, right?
