If my miniSD Card could be read/write by 904SH but it can't be read in a PC/Mac environment, does it mean my card is whacked?

I don't know weak....
My memory stick has the same problem, it is always read by my W900 but when I use a card reader or plug it directly into the computer sometimes it reads it, sometimes it does not.
I think your card is OK.

I don't think its the card reader's fault. I used 2 different card readers to read it and it doesn't work. I tried them on my Windows XP thinkpad and i tried it in my intel iMac, but the card just can't be read...

yet, my 904SH can read it fine. i can BT files into the phone, then store them in the card. Also, when i first got the card, i did use the 904SH to format my card, does the Sharp format it in such a way it can't be read by Win environment?

How big is the card? If it's a 2GB card then this problem will occur and there's no way around it, but if it's 1GB or smaller then it's unusual.

what brand is your card as well?

Mine is a Kingston 1GB miniSDcard.... now trying to get another phone in my office which uses miniSD slots to test if my card is readable on their phone... i really dunno whats wrong with it.

i couldn't format it as well, as my PC/iMac couldn't detect the card in the first place, the card reader just keep flashing red as in trying to locate the card.

None of you guys have this problem?

i don't usually have such an issue. i used to get that thtough with my momery sticks... what i did was.. install my usb card reader onto a different port
rebooted. and replugged it in. and the drivers reinstalled itself. and u could read it again

guess i'm outta luck... i probably will try to use the Sharp phone to do a format on it, failing which i will need another card.

Posted by: Timsta

well befor eu do that
how about you bring it to another pc?

i tested my card on 3 machines; 1 iMac, 1 WinXP notebook, and 1 WinXP desktop. i also tested with 2 card readers. and it still doesn't work... they can't detect my card. any tips?

Posted by: AL9999

Yep... definitely sounds like there's something weird with the card.

Posted by: Timsta

ok.. seems like your card is messed up. i suggested threatening it with fire.... or just buying a new one

Posted by: AL9999

Nah just buy a new one, don't worry about the fire.

Posted by: Timsta

fire is a good threat for the memory card. show who's boss
