v635 flip problem. (not reverse flip)

Hey, last night for some reason my v635 doesn't shut off the main screen and enable the outer lcd when I shut it. When I flip it closed I still see the little M logo on the outer lcd, unless i squeeze it, but as soon as i stop it goes back to the M logo and the main LCD turns back on. I just think the little notch isn't making contact with the button below the flip, what should I do about this? It's really, really annoying.

Sound like your ribbon is loose. If you know how to take it apart (its not difficult) you can reattach the ribbon correctly.

Alright, what do I have to do?

I've never taken my v635 apart, but I know my v400 inside out so it can't be too different.

My v620 did that too, I just sent it in to Moto and they fixed it for free. This was even though I bought the phone online from howardforums.com.com and had no recept or anything proving when I bought it.

Well I'm on cingular.. What do I do to send it to Motorola, just call customer service or something? How long did it take?

I kind of just want to open it up and fix it myself if it's that easy.

ah, i just winged it and tried. I opened it up from the back, unlatched the ribbon and removed the back board, then pushed out the little button that activates the outer lcd. Put the back board back on then latched the ribbon back on real tight and now it works perfectly! thanks guys.

Do you need a special tool to open it? The little button that tells the screen to come on has become sticky on mine so when I open the phone the screen takes about 4-5 seconds to come up.
