I am able to get a new treo 650 for 314.99 outright and I am wondering if its worth it. I have been offered a data plan that is extremely cheap. I am wondering if I should wait and see if the Treo 700w or 700p will go to Cingular.
Is anybody having problems with their 650? I have heard that Palm has discountinued them. Will Cingular insure them?

Palm still offers the Treo 650 for as low as $299. Cingular doesn't insure the t650 because it "retails over $500", as I was told and you read it on the Cingular web site as to what is insured. Btw, if you are already paying insurance, call them and get your money back, you will have no trouble doing that.
The biggest plus for the Treo 700 is: 1.3 mp camera, 120 meg memory (1/2 that is user memory) and EDVO.
I can go without that using a sd card on my T650 and still have something very close to the t700. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my t650! It serves my purpose, now to find insurance for it. Both of their processor speeds are the same!
You might need to check around the forum for someone who has mentioned where to get insurance, I have heard many putting them under their Home Owners Insurance.

i ended up getting a brand new treo 650 for $100. literally. i like it a lot better than my other phones. i have the i930 (nextel) and it's NOTHING compared to the treo. i'll be sticking with my treo for a while. i've experience one slight problem, but easily fixed with taking the battery back out and putting it back in.

CIngular won't insure PDA style phones.

The 700p might be coming out to cingular around october. The 700p also has a lot of software upgrades. It includes a lot of things that requires 3rd party software for the 650. I think there is a 700p rom dump somewhere out here. You can use that software to make a custom rom for the 650 and pretty much have a 700p without the evdo, memory, and cam upgrades
