Weird Problem with my 6700 & Voicemail

So I picked up a UT Starcom 6700 and a new Telus Mobility contract in January of 2006. Soon after I got the new phone I started getting a weird problem checking voicemail. After I would enter my PIN on my voicemail account I would begin to hear the message and then I would hear a dial tone briefly and then nothing but dead air. The phone counter would still indicate it was connected but nothing was happening. Initially I figured I goofed but this started happening more frequently but unfortunately not every time I checked voice mail.
Eventually I raised the issue with Telus and they said to take the phone back to the dealer so they can fix it. I took the phone and they sent it away for 3 weeks.
The first day I get the phone back after three weeks and, you guessed it, the problem happened again. I called Telus back and opened a trouble ticket and I have been diagnosing this problem with Telus tech support for 2 weeks now with no end in sight. They keep saying that everything looks good from their end but the problem is still happening.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions I can try?

Never had this issue with my 6700... Do you use a BT head set or hold the phone to your head like a normal handset? I know somepeople tend to press the screen to their face which pushes the onscreen buttons, that could be a problem..?
Sort of sounds like a voice mail issue, have you tried checking it from a regular phone?

I am using the handset and not a BT device to check email. If I do check it from a landline it works fine. If I check it from the handset sometimes the problems occurs. It is rather frustrating because there doesn't seem to be a rime or reason for it. I think it is the handset and or a voicemail problem but nothing from Telus yet.
