Problems with internet explorer on 8125

I just got my 8125 last Wednesday. For 5 days it worked fine. Now IE doesn't work. What happens is, I click on a favorite. It says locating, opening, and then the progress bar quickly fills. But when that's done, instead of a web page being in the IE window, it's just a completely blank page. Any advice?

Holy cow. I was just searching for the same problem. I even did a hard reset and now am reloading the phone. I really need this to work, as I'm leaving on vacation in 2.5 hours. It's like it's not transferring GPRS data, cause I can get pages to load when using ActiveSync. I thought maybe it was a service issue, but swapped my sim card into my old V551, and was able to access MediaNet pages. Another funny thing, I'm in the Chicago area too, so maybe it is a service issue. Do you know if Cingular is open at this hour?

From what I know, their 611 CS pretty much closes @ 9 PM.

Kind of what I figured. Well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one pulling my hair out over this. I'm supposed to be sleeping, but now I'll be up the rest of the night reloading my phone. The limo is supposed to pick me up at 5:15, so no sense in getting any sleep. I wonder if the problem will cure itself for me, since I'll be in another metro area??

I get absolutely nothing without the proxy. The status bar just reads "Locating...". With the proxy, it would at least get to "Opening...", then appear to open the page, but then transfers no data, and the IE screen shows up blank.

Activesync uses a proxy setting to conect to you PC to synchronize. IE will try to use that proxy when it trys to connect to the internet via phone connection. The problem is that MS doesn't allow you to separate the connection settings to create a profile for an application. What needs to happen is, after each sync via Activesync, disable the proxy connection.
Start>
Settings>
Connections>
Edit my proxy server > "Uncheck" (Clear) the option of "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"
The GPRS/EDGE doesn't need to use the proxy settings and will NOT let your cellular connection to the internet work properly. Thanks MS!!!!
Anyway, hope this helps.
