I have a problem. I have connected to my lynksys with my phone now I need to know how to go on the internet. If I use internet explorer I will be charged by Verizon, right? What do I use as my browser and how do I do this. I have allready rebooted the phone so you can use the phone and wifi together.Someone please help

Gussing you have the 6700???

When connected to wifi you should see a tower icon with arrows instead of the 1x/ev icon with arrows. As long as that is what is displayed browsing in PIE should go over your WIFI for free instead of the 1x/EV network which you get charged for.

I do have the tower icon so I use internet explorer just like I would if I paid for the service?

If you want to make sure you don't accidently use the pay services 1x/EVDO then go into settings-->connections tab-->connections

Then go to manage existing connections.
Very first screen should have a list with the titles Name and Number with one item in there ([sometext] #777). Just hold/tap that item then select delete.. The phone should not be able to dial into the 1x/EVDO network any more.

Alternatibly you could go to the advanced tab under connections and make a new profile that does not contain the dialup number and set it as the default, but I find that sometimes these settings get reset after a soft reset.

If you don't do this, there is a chanced that if you loose your wifi signal that the phone will automaticly try and switch to 1x/EV which you get charged for.
