V3 Cingular CSD settings

I've read a handful of threads that suggest Cingular is blocking CSD access for those of us who want to use the V3 as a data modem and access a dialup ISP like ATT or AOL, but some here have said that Cingular blocks CSD.

I just reviewed XLR8's Seem Edit file, and it looks as though Seem 0032_001, Offset 1A, Bit 0 is what controls the phone's support for CSD so we can enable it as a dialup modem.

Can one of y'all confirm?

Thanks!

I am interested in this as well. I now use my company phone so much, I have HOURS of roll-over minutes to eat up. I know it's slow, but I'd love to use them up to check for email and the like from my laptop while on the road.

Well it's been a couple days & no one responded so.............I think Data Transfer is billed seperatly than Voice calling Access, you may not be able to burn up unused minutes that way.....(they got all the angles covered).

Yes, they do charge for GPRS, but what I'm getting at, is that if the carrier is blocking CSD from within the phone, why can't we just seem edit to re-enable it, just as we seem edit to enable the java loader?

I figure that they're my minutes, how I use 'em should be up to me.
