How to restore properly using Flash Backup?

I've had a few people ask me how to do this and I don't have an answer for them and I haven't seen a thread about this either.
I've never needed to do it, but it would be a good thing to know. Anyone know? This is for the RAZR V3 if that matters.

With flash back up, you just connect the phone and click create backup. From that point the program will make the backup and save it to a folder, your done after that. It does come in very handy.

The question was not how to backup, which is much more complicated than you describe in actuality, the question is how to properly restore a backup. And I know you just don't click the restore button and that's it. Someone wrote me saying this wasn't the way to do it.
Who knows 100% here?

Are you serious. I did this about 5 times last night. With the program Flash Backup, you connect the phone, click create backup. From that point the program will make a backup and save it to a folder. To restore that backup, find the file that was backed up, make sure the phone is connected then click restore backup. From that point the program takes over and restores the backup. Be sure to have your phone in bootloader, The program will do that for you if you forget.
Maybe people should post what they are telling you so that everyone can see it.

I'm looking for a more detailed explanation, there are clearly things being overlooked here.
